An independent prep tool, by people who passed.
We built lifeintheuk-tests.uk because the existing test prep sites were either riddled with ads, out-of-date, or hidden behind expensive monthly subscriptions. We're not affiliated with HM Government — we just want you to pass.
The disclaimer, up front
This is not the official source. The Home Office runs the real Life in the UK test, which you must book at gov.uk/life-in-the-uk-test. The only book the Home Office tests you on is “Life in the United Kingdom: A Guide for New Residents (3rd edition)”, which you can buy from any major bookshop.
How our content is built
Every question on this site is written from scratch in the format and style of the official handbook. We do not reproduce official questions. Our questions are then reviewed every month by people who have recently passed the test, who flag anything outdated or inaccurate.
- 45 full practice tests, 24 questions each
- Mapped to the five topic areas of the handbook
- Mix of single-answer and multi-answer questions, like the real test
- Reviewed monthly — last full review on 1 May 2026
Why £9.99?
It pays the people who review the questions, hosts the site, and keeps it ad-free. One payment, lifetime access, no subscription. We hate hidden fees as much as you do.
Privacy
We store your progress (which tests you've taken, which questions you've missed) so we can give you a personalised training mode. We never sell your data. You can delete your account at any time.
