Where ChatGPT stops — and why you'll still want the app

We built the ChatGPT app to remove friction. Most people fail the Life in the UK test because they never practise under real conditions, and the easiest revision is the revision you actually do — so if ChatGPT is already open, asking it for ten questions beats promising yourself you'll revise later.

It is deliberately narrow, though. It asks questions and it marks a mock. It does not remember your last session, it won't write you an explanation of the Magna Carta, and it can't tell which topic keeps catching you out week after week.

That's what the rest of this site is for. All 45 practice tests, adaptive Training that weights questions toward your weak spots, written explanations on every answer, six cheat sheets, offline study and progress that syncs across devices all live on the website and in the Android app.

FAQ

The ChatGPT app — common questions

Is the Life in the UK Practice Tests app in ChatGPT free?
Yes. It's free to use and there's no sign-up, no account linking and no card details — open it in ChatGPT and start answering questions.
Is this the official Life in the UK test?
No. It's practice only. The official test is booked through GOV.UK and sat at an approved test centre. Our questions follow the real format — 24 multiple-choice questions, 18 correct to pass — and are written from the official Life in the UK (3rd edition) handbook.
Does it track my progress between sessions?
No — each ChatGPT conversation stands on its own. If you want your scores, weak topics and unlocked tests saved and synced, use the website or the Android app, which share one account.
Does it work in the ChatGPT mobile app?
Yes. It runs anywhere ChatGPT runs — the web app, and the iPhone and Android ChatGPT apps. That makes it a good option for a few quick questions when you don't want to install anything.
How is it different from the website and the app?
ChatGPT is the quickest way to get a few reps in. The website and the Android app go further: all 45 full tests, adaptive Training that targets your weak topics, written explanations, six cheat sheets, offline study and progress that syncs across devices.
